Description
This attractive note one of the least expensive banknotes from the Civil War in our inventory. We're pleased to offer this One Dollar Banknote issued March 1, 1864 by the State of Louisiana. This note is payable in Confederate currency and displays a vignette of Commerce leaning on bales of cotton with a ship in the distance. It's a wonderful momento of the Civil War offered at a modest price. This hand trimmed and hand signed note was printed on extremely thin paper. It’s designated Rarity 4 by Hugh Shull, author of the Guidebook of Southern States Currency - fewer than 2,500 Notes are thought to remain with most in low-grade condition. We photographed this attractive lightly circulated note under natural lighting conditions to assist you with your evaluation. Additionally the photos zoom in quite well, allowing you to view this item under extreme magnification. This historic note
