1864 Confederate States of America Banknote, T-69, “In Memoriam”.

Description

On offer is an 1864 Confederate States of America Banknote, T-69, in estimated About Uncirculated condition. There is a pinhole in the left-hand side of the central vignette.
The reverse of the note has been overprinted with the poem “In Memoriam".
It is also something of an error note, as a reversed "2" has been used in place of "7" in the "Series 7" inscription on the front face of the note.
The note bears the relatively low serial number 2628, in a series of more than 5 million issued notes.
