1934 CAMEL CIGARETTES TROLLEY CAR COLOR LITHOGRAPH ADVERTISING SIGN TENNIS STAR

Rare and original, 1934 Camel Cigarettes, Advertising Sign featuring Bill Tilden – American Tennis great and member of the Tennis Hall of Fame.
This wonderful, "Trolley" Style Advertising Sign measures 21" by 10" and is matted and framed for display in a modern, metal frame (overall size of framed display is 24” by 13 1/2”).
The Sign features a bust portrait of Tilden smoking a cigarette and holding a tennis racket. There is an image of a pack of Camels at the lower left hand corner on the sign along with the logo of the National Recovery Administration. Text on the Sign reads “Costlier Tobaccos” and “Camels Never Get On My Nerves” followed by a facsimile signature that reads “Wm. T.Tilden 2d”. The Sign is copyright 1934 by the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and signed by the lithographer – The Strobridge Litho Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This rare and original, 1934 Tennis Subject, Camel Cigarettes Cigarettes Advertising Sign is in very good condition and displays nicely. The colors are bright and vibrant - rich and warm and there is no physical damage or repairs of any kind. There are some unobtrusive creases and wrinkling to the sheet and some soiling and light staining at the lower right hand corner. The Sign displays nicely as matted and framed.
