DESCRIPTION: Stunning remarkable ANTIQUE three tier stacking Chinese wedding box/basket. Bamboo/rattan/Sandalwood and/ or Rosewood?… Beautiful engraved brass accents. Very old very rare estate piece!! THIS ITEM IS VERY LARGE AND WILL REQUIRE COSTLY SHIPPING. Will have tracking &,insurance and require longer delivery time when going by ground delivery. Dimensions: 21 1/2 inches tall. Very good condition commensurate with great age of 142 years. When I acquired this it was locked but has no key. There is a three-piece locking mechanism… I used a metal nail file to pick the lock and was successful. I have removed the locking rod and lock mechanism and this will be included in the shipment. Handle is intricate three sections of bamboo with etched brass accents !!!! Beautiful !!! overall it is a deep caramel amber stain. 2 visible tiers & One hidden tray Beneath the lift off lid. Beautiful black hand-painted Chinese characters on the lid. Unable to translate. 3 issues to note… Refer to photos… Bottom tier has a separation in the bottom slats… No missing wood. Common attribute of baskets of this kind. Does not affect beauty or value or displayability. There is one missing brass corner piece. There is one corner piece that is lifting because one tiny brass nail is missing. Pricing has been adjusted for these issues. This is an item to celebrate your heritage… It will become a treasured family heirloom… This is for the discriminating collector of oriental art and relics.
