Description
Here is a very rare and hard to find; this was a fraudulent bank, in business for a short period of time in 1857. The note has a large vignette of a pioneer family rafting to a new life flanked by a vignettes of a farmer playing with his children and
CERES kneeling by a woman (most of the time this standing figure was a Native American woman). The note has a yellow overall tint and a yellow and white FIVE protector. This is a modern propriety proof printed in the 20th century by the ABNCo using the original plates for general corporate purposes and program.
Note
is flawlessly graded
PMG 65
GEM UNCIRCULATED / Exceptional Paper Quality.
It is a fantastic investment grade example of a rare and popular type. A flaming dream with deep fresh flashy ink color and blazing crisp freshness. Far more rare in this grade than others might imagine. Only one collector can own this grade rarity that serves to separate the truly great Confederate collections from the nearly great Confederate collections.
A fabolus opportunity.
Outstanding quality of both paper and ink. The bright colors against the background are an aesthetic delight.
Scarce and highly sought after in the higher grades.
