    Description

One beautiful old mother of pearl (locally called, "sadaf") button from the tribal regions of Kohistan, Pakistan. The geometric symbols are made by hand. Speculation about the use of the buttons is varied - some say they are worn on dresses called, "jumlo", others indicate they are used on decorative items. Approximately 1/8" but varies due to wear and age. The button is worn from years of use but the design is still visible. The remains of the shell are still apparent on the back. Approximately 2" wide.
Different monitors and phone apps show colors differently. I do my best to accurately document color using both photos and written descriptions. If you have any questions, please send me a message.
