From a Normandy Park estate in Seattle, we are delighted to offer this rare Chinese grain basket. Basket making is an old and humble craft, but in the hands of a truly skilled weaver, branches like those used in this basket, can be transformed into a truly beautiful work of art. Young branches grow quickly, are strong and flexible, and so are the perfect basket making material. This one has lasted and continued to be strong for more than a century. It measures approximately 15” diameter x 11.5” high and is gently used with with wear consistent with age and use.
