    Description

    This is a love letter from Clarence E. to a Virginia Hawk penned on an 1862 Confederate 0 note. Interest was paid on the note
    on the January 1st, 1864 in Macon, GA.
    The note reads:
    "Virginia Hawk,
    the sweetest girl
    that I ever knew"
    "My Virginia, at least I call her mine & I hope that some day not
    far away I will caller her mine & she will really be mine.
    I hope that she loves me like I love her. I know that she really is the sweetest girl
    that I have ever known. I hope that she doesn't ever change
    or at
    least I hope she loves me like I love her.
