Description

Excellent condition and guaranteed original French Model 1956 bayonet for the 49/56 MAS rifle. Marked with date code “E” on the underside of the guard indicating manufacture in 1959. Bayonet has excellent original gray parkerized finish. Blade has the distinctive early long false edge. Excellent black plastic grips. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has green leather belt loop and handle straps. Scabbard has original parkerized finish and no dents. Also marked “E-RM”. Leather is soft and supple. Belt hook is present. A nice example of a hard to find bayonet.
