A great sign with great provenance!
This sign is made of heavy embossed cardboard.
It is dated with an ink stamp on the back --May 3 1914
It has hand writing on the back telling the story of this sign coming from a former worker at the Smith and Horton co.
It measures approx 9x16 inches
It has great color and is a solid 8.75/10 or better with minor staining and a small amount of chippign on a couple of corners and at the bottom
Not many of these could have survived over 100 years. This one was found behind a picture by the daughter of the man who worked for the company.
The sign was made by Wolf & Co. Phila as shown in the pics
