  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall vint cond: In extraordinary overall antique cond & incredibly well-pres, it only suffers from a very sm amount of loss on one of the thin, reeded rattan horizontal bands, which accept the food storage enclosed tray located directly above it, approximately 1/4" in length. Aside from this sm amount of damage, the 3-tiered, woven willow, highly decorative 'wedding basket,' has an intricately carved splint rattan, lg looping carrying handle, w/highly realized figuration & vert, triple-banded, reticulated, scrolled edges. The lg looping splint rattan carrying handle feats incised, highly decorative, reticulated brass corners, footings & fancy, ornate, double dragon, hinged brass top handle. The brass has its orig, nat aged patina & hasn't been chemically cleaned or polished. The finely woven willow sidewalls also still have their orig sepia-brown painted finish which is lightly lacquered. A truly exceptional late 19th-early 20th c Chinese antique wedding basket. Fine.

The looping splint rattan large carrying handle features incised, highly decorative, reticulated brass corners, footings and fancy, ornate, double dragon, hinged brass top handle. The brass has its original, naturally aged patina and hasn't been chemically cleaned or polished.
