LONG VINTAGE DAROGHA NECKLACE - Handcrafted Old Tribal Jewelry from Kashmir

This ornate tribal jewelry Darogha necklace was handcrafted during the early to mid-1900's in the lush Kashmir Valley that lies along the Old Silk Road at the base of the Himalayas.
Darogha Bagh is a famously beautiful cove located on the banks of the romantic Lake Dal in Kashmir. 5 rows of old tribal beads are fringe the bottom with long, bejeweled dangles that clatter together with movement for a wonderful sound.
The side pendants near the back are 3-dimensional, but remain light weight because of their hollow construction. They are encrusted with colorful beads for a beautiful effect.
A cord and button clasp complete the back. This is heavy necklace that was worn on important occasions and for celebrations.
This necklace is in excellent condition, with mild wear patterns and a warm patina giving the glow of time. Old necklaces like this are getting harder and harder to find...especially with current conditions in that part of the world. This is a collectible piece of old tribal jewelry.
