Danville VA was the last capital of the confederacy. During the 100th year anniversary of the wars end in 1965 a festival was had in danville commerating the historical events of the war. These bank notes were printed by a company called Clarks Souvenirs; there is a stamp on each one at the top that reads "From Original Danville VA Civil War Centenial April 3-10 1965".
