    Description

    ORIGINAL VIETNAM WAR ERA U.S. M8A1 SCABBARD UNISSUED.  This is a U.S. M8A1 scabbard as issued with the M-5, M-6 & M-7 bayonets during the Vietnam War era. The scabbard throat is marked "U.S. M8A1 PWH."  The scabbard is unissued and still has the original tie down cord factory tied tightly around the throat.  The scabbard body retains almost all of its original olive drab paint.  There are no breaks or cracks in the scabbard body.  The metal hardware to include the throat, wire hanger and end tip show age oxidation -see close up photos.  I have not attempted to clean this and will leave that for the buyer to decide.  The webbing is in great condition and the retaining snap is in working order.
