After a bit more than 60 years of collecting coins and currency it is time to move my collection along. Here is a very nice 1862 0 CSA note (T41). It was printed by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC and signed out by the registrar and treasury on Oct 25, 1862. It has a stamp on the reverse showing it was issued in Savannah, GA. While this is listed as “circulated” the 0 notes were only used for very large transactions or for saving and were not in normal everyday use. This one appears to have been folded and put away and while not certified appears to be in fine condition in my opinion. I purchased this and all of my CSA notes over a period of time in the 1980s and 1990s from Col. Grover Criswell who was a past governor of the ANA and a leading dealer in currency and especially CSA notes. The note measures 3” X 7 1/4” and the obverse design shows workers in the field at the top center, a pseudo Lady Liberty in lower right and a vignette of then SC Senator John C Calhoun in the lower left. Strong clear signatures by the officials. This is a very clean note and has no repairs. As I bought this quite a while back I can offer it at a good price and offer FREE SHIPPING with 1-4 day Priority Mail delivery to the US.
