This is a Turkish modified bayonet for the M1 Garand rifle. Bayonet is good issued condition. Scabbard is good, with webbing. Scabbard marked with MKE and Islamic crescent moon.
German 1916 vintage ersatz metal handle mauser bayonet repurposed to fit an M1 rifle. Originally supplied by the Germans to the Turkish government during World War I. Some time in the 1950s these bayonet’s blades were shortened to a 6 inch length and the guard was replaced with an M5A1 type. It only fits an M1 rifle. Good bayonet for the collector.
