    Item: USMC Marine US Vietnam Conetta "Ka-Bar" Fighting Knife & Leather Sheath
    Year: ca. 1967-69, Vietnam War era. Conetta Manufacturing Company of Stamford, Connecticut went defunct in the late 1960s. They only produced these knives for a few years during Vietnam, and any surviving examples are scarce today.

    Scabbard: Original USMC Vietnam Dark Brown Leather Scabbard with cotton stitching and darkened brass rivets down the sides, and a fully functional darkened brass "glove" snap closure leather handle retention strap. ***The snap on the handle retention strap is not working.***

    Condition: This knife is in good condition. Some light wear, the tip is present, blade is straight. Normal patina for age. Guard and handle are tight and firmly set. The sheath shows moderate surface cracking at the upper front body, some scattered wrinkling to the rest of the front body, and some scattered scratching and scuffing at back. ***The snap on the handle retention strap is not working.***
