vintage BARTEAUX USA Survival MACHETE Vietnam War-era w/sheath

Description

This is a vintage short machete with cast-on aluminum handle made by BARTEAUX USA in the 1960's.  These were used in the Vietnam War and this one has that history.  Measures about 17" long with the spring carbon steel blade being 11". Used and sharpened with some staining but no scars or deep pitting. Big aluminum handle with integral guard and pistol grip pommel. The original owner's name and address is scratched on the side and is legible.  Thong hole with braided rope thong.  The leather sheath is not period but made for this knife and has VIETNAM stamped on the front.
