This guy is in excellent condition for his age.
The white spot on tummy is from handicraft sticker.
The sticker said made in Shanghai China by Handicrafts
Very special water buffalo 🐃
He has some what looks like mishaps but it’s just the natural wood blemishes.
On his right rear side he has 2 small spot where weaving has a micro mishaps but very minor and unnoticeable

History: About the art form: Shanghai Handicrafts are a rich traditional Chinese art that became available in American markets starting as trade between the two countries opened in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Each piece is hand-woven from wicker. Carved wood, stitching, and eyes bring the character to these pieces. High quality examples of Shanghai Handicrafts artisan work are exceedingly rare to find on the open market and some of the pieces that are for sale here are the only examples of their work available. These pieces are impossible to date accurately, but were made from 1930-1980 based on their tags and styles. Some still bear the red tag on the bottom.
