    Description

Vintage HONDA CB Motorcycle Fuel Gas Tank Very Nice, CB 500 + CB550+ UNKNOWN. Condition is "Used".
I can tell you that it came off of a recently acquired 1972 CB 500,  but it probably came off of a different bike originally.
The CB 500 owner has passed now, so we don't know the entire story.
We do know that it is larger then an original CB500 tank, and was a little loose  when fitting the frame.  He used it as an upgrade so he could travel further in the Huge Great State of California.
So, if any of you "Purest" know the exact bike, please send us a message.
Up for sale is this very nice vintage tank!
One small dent in the back,  has been recently repaired without matching paint. (Please look at the picture showing left rear of tank)
Also please note: This takes a different petcock then the original Honda single threaded type.
It is most likely a tank originally from another Japanese bike from that era, which was modified re badged Honda.
If your fuel line is on the other side you may need to lengthen it.
This tank shows nicely. As vintage tanks go, it does have a few light scratches.
So, look at the pictures carefully.
If I were to use it, I would buy some  "Metal Rescue" that you can get at Home Depot,  or probably even Ebay/Amazon
Then the inside of the tank would become "new again"  (they are not paying us for this endorsement) I just don't like using acid when I restore a bike.
With respect, you will receive this tank just as nice as we can send it!
On Ebay, we put in the size and weight, plus dimensions. This means everyone in the country has a different shipping cost.
If we do our math right, we come out Even.
Additional pictures available on request, just message us.
We believe this is a very rare tank, for the right buyer. (Maybe the only one like it in the country)
Remember though, it was one mans upgrade for his 72 CB500, and certainly worked for that.
