Vintage Nothwestern Tribal Handmade Pendant, Elk Carving From Deer/Elk Antler

This is from my mother's collection.  Mom bought Native American jewelry from the 60's forward, slowed down in the 90's, but never completely stopped until she couldn't get out anymore.  She also almost never kept receipts.  As a result all I know about the jewelry is what I've learned from my own research, but have no idea where or when or from whom she bought any of it, except that she picked up most of these items on trips to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos.
This is an old item, Mom must have bought it used, as the antler is smoothed and looks like it was handled a lot--also the bail appears to me to be hand-made as well. You can see how the antler was cut in half and after carving put back together, to put the carving in a frame.  Unique, and beautiful detail in the carving.  Please see photos for color and condition.
